Texas RowTexas Row
Did you ever wonder what Texas row looks like before you arrive, here it is. We had another great location this year in section B on the boulevard. Wow, we even got under a shade tree this year. We were taken to our site Thursday giving us a chance to get Texas Row in order before reporting to work Friday at the front gate.

Front Gate

Welcome To GNR 2008
Your first stop is the front gate and check in where you are greeted by Marianne's girls.  The "girls" are eager to meet each and every arrival with a smile and welcome.

Under The TentUnder The Tent
Those who arrived early found our own Heart Of Texas Winnies playing "foot & hand" under the shelter at head of row.

Daddy Had One
Yes, Daddy had one of these. Kathie enjoyed the classic car show on Saturday before the rally, this one caught her eye and brought back memories. Kathie was allowed to drive it on Senior Day..only to school.
Everyone enjoyed the classic car cruise Saturday afternoon and the display of 100 or more cars. It was especially fun to talk to the owners after they parked for viewing. We understand that Doug F. had something to do with this treat, we thank you.

Welcome BBQWelcome Bar B Q
Texas kicked off  the rally again this year with a welcome Bar-B-Q at head of row. This was a great opportunity to meet new friends and enjoy the company of our Texas W Club members.
John D & Mike
Thank you John D as we served around 150 friends close to 30 pounds of HEB Brisket imported from Texas.  Texas sides were included with our wonderful cooks adding to the menu, not one Texan left hungry.  Hospitality is the name of the game in our great state.

Row PartyRow Party
Kathie & Mimi talk about all the Taco Salad they served to everyone who stopped by Texas row Tuesday Afternoon. Thank you Mimi (and John D) for all your help making row party a success.

Roger Mays from our Alamo Winnies won "best of show" at our 2007 rally in Sannger. Roger's wood- carving in Intarsia was displayed at GNR.

Pokey HarrisQuilting

Pokey Harris wins a first place in Quilting.  She has quite a story to tell about the creating of this.

Kathie ToddCreative Paper
Kathie won a blue ribbon in Creative Paper for her pappier tole project, which is a 3-D layering of identical images.  For this piece, she used 3 Anton Pieck prints.

Pizza NightPizza Night
We were exhausted having so much fun that we simply didn't want to cook or go out.  So Mike inaugurated the first annual Pizza Night at Texas Row.  We simply ordered and picked up the pizzas and we ate them in the comfort of our own lawn chairs under the tent. Camaraderie and pizza, what a combination.  Your new President plans to continue the new tradition.
