G1    PURPOSE

The purpose of this document is to provide consistent direction, information and guidelines regarding the Texas "W" Club. It is intended to inform and educate both potential and existing members as to what the Texas "W" Club is about and how it operates.

WIT (Winnebago Itasca Travelers) is the governing body of all state chapters and clubs. It is located in Forest City, Iowa – headquarters for Winnebago/Itasca Industries.
One should be familiar with WIT by-laws and the Texas "W" Club by-laws to better understand the information contained within this document. The WIT by-laws and Texas "W" by-laws will take precedence over any information presented in this document.
G2    STATE CLUB

The Texas "W" Club is the only WIT Club in the state of Texas. Several WIT Chapters (13 in 2007) are also in operation in Texas. The Chapters are not governed nor do they report to the Texas W Club. Chapter members are not required to join the State Club, nor are State Club members required to join a Chapter. However, some Chapters may require mandatory Texas "W" Club membership and that is the Chapter’s option. Chapters have a responsibility to support the State Club activities. (Per WIT by-laws)

Texas W membership requirements are simple:
  1. Be a member in good standing of WIT
  2. Own and arrive at an Event in a Winnebago Industries product
  3. Be current with Texas "W" Club dues.

G3    DUES

Texas "W" annual dues, per coach, are as approved by the Club membership and are due October first. Members not paid by the January Meeting will be deleted from the membership list.

You are expected to supply your WIT number and expiration date when paying dues. Annual dues will not be prorated.

G4    EVENTs

Annual Texas "W" Club Events consist of 3 Meetings and a Rally. The Meetings are typically held in January, April, and July. The July Meeting is held at the Grand National Rally (GNR) in Forest City, Iowa. All other Events are held in Texas and are hosted by one or more Chapters, depending on their size and capabilities. The hosting Chapter(s), with the approval of the Texas "W" Club Officers, agrees on the Event location. The Rally usually occurs in October.

Note: Gatherings, either a Meeting or Rally must be self-supporting. The cost of the Event must be offset by the fee charged or in the case of a Rally, by the fee and contributions. You might also have contributions from dealers for a Meeting, but you do not solicit contributions for a Meeting.

Parking together requires that participants arrive together. Upon arrival, parkers will greet each RV, hand out information, and answer questions.
If handicap parking is requested, the official Texas state approved tag must be displayed in the front for the parking committee to see.
Participants are asked to wear a name badge at all times.
At check-in, each coach will receive a welcome bag and a program/agenda showing the times of the various activities.
Pre-registration is encouraged.

G5    REFUNDS

All registration fees will be refunded if a registrant cancels prior to arrival at the Event.

Event registration fees are for the complete event and will not be prorated or refunded for late arrival or early departure.
G6    EVENT SEQUENCE
Meetings or Rally always start on Friday after the opening ceremonies and conclude on Sunday, typically, with a non-denominational devotional.
Activities prior to Friday’s opening ceremony, are not a part of the formal Event and are considered pre-Event activities.
Ceremony Flags are those used by the Texas "W" club and are provided by the Texas "W" President.

G7    PLEDGE TO TEXAS FLag

“Honor the Texas flag, I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible.”

G8    OPENING CEREMONIES

Wear your Chapter uniform and name badge.

G9    BUSINESS MEETING

Wear your Chapter uniform and name badge.
When requested, at the Business Meeting, the Chapter President or representative of each Chapter will stand and state the number of coaches in their Chapter and the number of member coaches on the grounds.
NOTE: Both WIT and Texas "W" designate a coach as a member.

A member from the Unaffiliated Participants may represent the unaffiliated group and give the same information as the Chapter Presidents. Unaffiliated members are members who own and arrive in a Winnebago Industry product, but are not members of a Chapter.

G10     TEXAS W BOARD

The Texas W Board is made up of the elected and appointed officers of the Texas "W" Club (per Texas W Constitution and By-Laws)

G11     TEXAS W EXECUTIVE BOARD

The Executive Board is composed of the current officers, immediate past president and the local chapter presidents and may include a representative from the Unaffiliated Members Group. Others may attend and observe the board meeting, but only the Chapter President or their representative may vote or participate in the discussion unless asked to speak.
